The Tiger (Dreams to Destroy Your Dreams I)
Oil and tempera on board, 32x41cm, 2007

One day, I dreamed my sister in a real tiger skin standing in an emptyness. Remaining how I love animals and how I was shocked when I visited a zoo next to my school and learned numbers of tigers are killed because of their beautiful fur and bones regarded as medicine by scary dark photos, I finally figured out the girl wasn't my sister but actually, me. So I painted the situation as my unconventional self-portrait.

I know the legs and feet are off... and pencil drawing version looks better than this one. Oil is still troublesome medium for me.

I like this one just as much as the original if not more!
The tigers face seems softer, kinder, or perhaps more sorrowfull in this version,
in the other the face seems more pearcing.

I like how the floor pattern wood stuff is kindof similiar to the tiger's stripes. and the texture on the wall is stunning, it really blows me away!:nod:
and the picture as a whole is great too, a very original self portrait:)

Oil painting ha kakeba kakuhodo omoshiroku nattekuru medium desu yo.
トラの目が悲しく見えるのはなんでだろう…多分描いた動機のせいでしょうか？　上野動物園のトラ展示で知ったのだけれど、乱獲が酷くて、絶滅寸前なんだそうです。
